We know that planning a wedding can be overwhelming. It can be difficult to find the perfect vendors and make sure that you have asked all of the right questions. We are launching a new series featuring some of our favorite questions to ask that you might not be thinking about. Each post in this series will feature a different vendor category and help give you a starting point to make sure you have everything you need for your big day!

What is your experience with baking wedding cakes?

What frosting options do you offer?

What are your wedding cake specialties?

What flavors and fillings are available?

Can you create a custom-designed cake? Is there an extra cost for this?

Do you do a taste test?

If we would like to decorate our cake with fresh flowers, will you liaise with our florist?

Are different fillings, frostings, and decorating techniques priced differently?

How far in advance will our cake be made?

Are you licensed and insured?

Do you freeze the cakes and, if so, can we taste one that has been frozen?

Do you provide a cake stand or cupcake stand and a knife?

What is the payment policy?

Do you deliver to the venue? If so, what is the cost?

Do you have a portfolio we can view?

Do you offer alternatives to cake? If so, what options are there?

Do you offer dietary restriction options? (Dairy-free, Nut-free, organic, Gluten-free, etc)

Do you offer sheet cake options for additional cakes or for dietary restrictions?

Do you offer any specialty decorations such as sugar flowers/gum paste flowers?

Do you offer Groom’s cakes? What is the pricing if so?
